Reality can be bent.
Just as a spoon can become a ring,
A person can become anything.
For those who choose change
Just as a spoon changes its shape,
people also change, carrying their past with them.
sajiring®︎ is for this transformation, freedom, and philanthropy.
It's not for a predetermined way of life, but for those who choose to shape their own.
It's for those who change their future through their own choices, not those who say, "It's impossible anyway."
ABOUT US
sajiring® is a brand from Kamakura, based on the concept of "Bend Your Reality," delivering new perspectives and opportunities for change through what you wear. We offer products that fit into everyday life, including jewelry and apparel.
PHILOSOPHY
What we value is creating things that have meaning. Not just an adornment, but something that reflects a person's past, choices, and future.
Just as a spoon, an everyday tool, can be given a new role, people too can continuously renew their own potential.
Every time you wear it, you remember.
Just as a spoon can become a ring.
"I am free. I can be anything."
Such feelings are encapsulated in sajiring®︎.
STORY
The roots of sajiring®︎ began with an encounter with that culture.
The culture of making rings from spoons is said to have originated in 17th century England.
It is said that the origin was when working-class men who wanted to give rings to their loved ones borrowed silver spoons from their landlords' homes, processed them, and made them into rings.
Inheriting the culture, from Japan to the world.
A word combining saji, meaning tablespoon and teaspoon, and ring, meaning ring
"sajiring®︎" started in 2022, based in Kamakura. *sajiring®︎ is a registered trademark.
材質 / スプーン
We have a track record of purchasing spoons to use as materials from both Japan and abroad, including the UK, France, Thailand, and Germany. We are constantly searching for unused materials lying dormant in various locations. By using only carefully selected spoons, we aim to create a circular economy.
From 2024, through a partnership with "Goldschmiede Adam," a long-established German jewelry shop, we will begin handling authentic antique silver spoons.
KEEP THE STORY
Our collaborative items with "Goldschmiede Adam" use antique silver spoons made approximately 70 to 150 years ago. Normally, these are melted down and returned to their silver material before being reborn into new jewelry. However, this process also erases the decorations etched into them and the traces of their long history.
We are passing them on to the next generation in a different form.
The patterns, the scratches, and the passage of time remain as they are. We take these spoons, once held by someone else, and connect them to their next owner, while seeking out new forms. sajiring®︎ preserves and weaves history.
We don't just want to be an accessories shop;
we want to be a catalyst for change.
When you're trying something new.
When you're letting go of something.
When you want to refresh yourself.
Like enjoying every minute and every second,
we provide experiences that gently
encourage you at just the right moment.
FOUNDER
Ryoma Hazawa (romanhaswell)
Founder/Designer Ryoma Hazawa (Roman Haswell). From a young age, he was interested in creation and arrangement, and accustomed to creating new forms using things around him. During his student years, he visited Thailand, Malaysia, Morocco, Spain, Italy, and other countries, which deepened his interest in overseas cultures. A dream he had one day became a turning point. As he investigated based on the dream's content, he discovered the "culture of making rings from spoons." Strongly drawn to this culture, he launched sajiring®︎ on February 22, 2022, based in Kamakura. Since then, he has expanded his POPUP stores both domestically and internationally, including Matsuya Ginza, Nihonbashi Takashimaya, Yokohama Takashimaya, Roppongi Midtown, Terracemall Shonan, and RareFindsCafe in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He currently operates "Sajimagari Kobo Yokohama | sajiring®︎ Studio," an experiential facility in Yokohama, where he also offers craft-making experiences.
